Ramon van Merkenstein is a Dutch double bassist and the architect and composer of this Brussels jazz project. Grooving basslines blend with melodic narratives and lyrical melodies. The interaction among the group members is surprising, adventurous, and full of creative freedom.

In October 2024, the Ramon van Merkenstein Trio will release its new album, ‘Waiting for a Summer Storm,‘ on the prestigious label Challenge Records. The album features 8 new compositions ready to be shared with the world.

The first album, ‘Quiet Dreams,’ was released in October 2021 on the ‘Homerecords.be‘ label. For this release, the band performed over 30 concerts and received numerous positive reviews, including praise in Jazz & Mo’, Le Soir, and Jazz’halo.
